CAMLA Essay Competition 2023 – Call for Submissions!

Do you have a declaration about defamation, a take on big tech, or a comment concerning contempt? If so, we would like to read it!

Entries for CAMLA’s 2023 Essay Competition are now open. Essays must relate to a communications or media law topic and be:

  • The original work of the author;
  • Previously unpublished (but may include an essay completed by a student enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate course, possibly as part of that course); and
  • Between 1,000 – 3,000 words (exclusive of all footnotes, annexures, attachments and bibliographies).

Prizes:

  • 1st prize: $1000, a mentoring session with a CAMLA Board or CAMLA Young Lawyers Committee member, and CAMLA membership valid for one year.
  • 2nd prize: $600, and CAMLA membership valid for one year.
  • 3rd prize: $400, and CAMLA membership valid for one year.

Essays may also be considered for publication in CAMLA’s Communications Law Bulletin.
